Italea Campania

Italea is a project dedicated both to those who already know their Italian origins and want to organize a trip to discover and rediscover the places, customs and culture of their ancestors, and to those who need to identify them. Italea will help you by recommending a network of genealogists.

The name Italea derives from “talea”, a practice by which a plant is allowed to propagate. By cutting a part of it and replanting it, it can be given new life, making new roots grow: just as happens with migrations. This is the perfect metaphor for emigration when our ancestors separated from their homeland to grow and prosper in other parts of the world.

This program represents the gratitude of the “mother plant” to its flowering in the world.

Italea is the program to promote roots tourism launched by the MAECI – Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation within the PNRR project and financed by NextGenerationEU for the period 2022-2025

ItaleaCampania, part of the national ITALEA project, represents the territorial network of roots tourism in the splendid Campania Region.

Active in the provinces of Naples, Avellino, Caserta, Benevento and Salerno, this Social Promotion Association (APS) is made up of expert professionals in sectors such as responsible tourism, rural development, agritourism hospitality, agricultural and forestry sciences, food innovation, sustainable agriculture, historical-naturalistic hiking , genealogy, digital innovation, social inclusion, experiential teaching and immersive laboratories.”
